Vicki Hough is the owner and artist behind Blue Violets.  She's been a successful artist for more then 15 years.  Vicki started her career as a stencil artisan and it has "bloomed" into an outstanding muralist.  She has done work as a faux painter, trompe l'oeil artist, and stencilist and is now devoting all her talents to being a muralist. 

Vicki has refined her talent by taking classes given by well-known artists from all over the world.  She has also taught classes in various parts of the country for the Stencil Artisan's League's National Conventions.  Vicki is the past president of two Stencil Guilds and still teaches classes in her local area.

Vicki decided that in this mobile society, there had to be a way for people to take their murals with them.  The canvases on this site allow you to do just that.  They can be placed and replaced on any hard surface, allowing the mural to be moved several times.  They all have an archival wax backing that is not sticky to the touch, but does allow them to be placed in your favorite focal point.  The canvases allow for a trompe l'oeil look (it means, “fool the eye”) and adds a touch of whimsy to your home.
